The Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection Cell under Food, CS& Consumer Affairs Department observes “World Consumer Rights Day” on 15th March and “National Consumer Day” on 24th December every year. The Department regularly conducts consumer awareness programmes in all four districts of the State covering all blocks and gram panchayat levels and reaching the rural masses.
Nookad-nataks/ Street plays are organised by the Department as an awareness drive to spread the message of consumer awareness among the village folks. Banners/ Hoardings are regularly displayed at prominent public for consumer knowledge.
The message of consumer awareness is also being disseminated through print and electronic media, viz., radio, television broadcast, local dailies, journals and magazines for wider coverage.
