The Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department is represented by an officers designated as District Civil Supplies Officers at the district Level.

The roles and responsibilities of the DCSOs are as under:

1. Entrusted to conduct regular inspections and checking of Fair Price Shops.
   1. Distribution of Food Grains,
   2. Smooth lifting, the quality and quantity of rations being supplied under TDPS and essential food commodities throughout the state.
2. Entrusted to monitor Food Godowns and FPS and submit detailed reports to the high authority.
3. DCSOs are the licensing authority head for FPS and issue of new Ration Cards.
